Digital cardsChoosing the right colours for your digital card
Colour is not just a matter of taste: it guides the eye, conveys an emotion and makes your card readable or tiring. A few simple principles are enough to make the right choices.
Colour speaks before words
A deep blue does not evoke the same thing as a bright orange. Before even reading, your visitor feels a mood. Choose a colour that fits your profession and the image you want to give.
Contrast, the key to readability
Dark text on a light background, or the reverse: what matters is the gap. Enough contrast makes your card readable in sunlight as in the metro, for every pair of eyes.
One dominant colour, one accent
No need to multiply shades. One main colour, one accent colour for buttons, and neutral for the rest: this simple rule gives a clean, professional result.
Stay true to your brand
If you have a logo, start from its colours. Consistency between your card, your site and your materials strengthens recognition and the seriousness of your image.
Think light and dark
Many people browse in dark mode. Check that your colours hold in both settings: a vivid shade on a white background can turn garish on a black one, and vice versa.
In practice
Choose a theme close to your colours, test it in light and dark, adjust the accent. In a few tries, your card becomes coherent, readable and recognisable.
